I began my writing career as a journalist.
Over the years I have reported from small towns in the US, conflict and post-conflict zones in Africa and just about everything in between. I have interviewed second-graders (I loved that) and their teachers, government officials, academics, United Nations peacekeepers, militia members, medical providers, NGO staffers, teen mothers, working parents and more.
I have an insatiable curiosity for the stories around me and there are few things I enjoy more than listening to people tell me about their lives. I am an excellent interviewer, a detailed writer and a fastidious fact-checker.
If you are soliciting story ideas or already have a story to assign, please be in touch. I will either put together a story pitch or map out a reporting plan for the piece you have in mind and then I’ll dig in. Once the story is written, I will revise as necessary until it’s prime for publication.
